A smart textile is good. Knowing how to integrate it is better.

When we talk about smart textiles, we often talk about functionalities; lighting, conductivity, interaction, sensing, …
But a connected textile only becomes truly useful when it is designed as a tool integrated into an application, not as a layer of technology added afterwards.

Integration means designing differently.

Integrating a smart textile is not simply about embedding technology into a material.
It means thinking from the outset about; how the textile will be used, how the user will interact with it, how the functions will fit naturally into everyday actions and how to ensure long-term reliability. In other words: it is not a final step, it is a design philosophy.
Working on touchpoints, activation zones, environmental constraints, robustness, ease of use, …

When it comes to talking about integration, our lighting jacket does it better than any speech: our illuminated tapes and piping follow natural movements and become intuitive, our On/Off solution easily controls every function and activation, all powered by a conductive tape that replaces cumbersome cables. This jacket is a practical illustration of what good integration should deliver: fluidity, efficiency and simplicity, in the service of real-world applications.
